Are you ready to give your child an unforgettable summer experience filled with adventure, learning, and personal growth? Look no further! Join us for Adventure Racing Summer Camp from July 14-18, running daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (8:15-9:00 drop off and 3:00-3:45 pick up times). Designed for adventurers ages 9-15 (with possible exceptions for maturity and ability), this program will offer a one-of-a-kind opportunity to build essential skills while exploring the great outdoors. Our curriculum is based on our wildly popular 6-week program, condensed into an action-packed week. Participants will develop critical adventure racing skills like: 🚵‍♂️ Mountain biking & bike maintenance 🗺️ Navigation 🍎 Nutrition 🤝 Teamwork ⛑️ First aid Each day, we’ll meet at a different park in the Columbia, MD area (locations TBD) for fresh challenges. The week will culminate in an exciting 2-3 hour adventure race, specially designed for our campers! What makes this camp special? Your child will gain so much more than technical skills. Through guided discussions and hands-on activities, they’ll learn: Mental resilience to face challenges Emotional intelligence and positive expression Stress management and self-regulation How to embrace and learn from failure Building a supportive community and aligning with their core values Each camper will receive a GRIT Toolkit, which includes handouts, worksheets, a high-quality compass, and a first aid kit, all to enhance their experience and learning. Gear Requirements Participants must provide the following items: A trail-worthy mountain bike in proper working order (loaner bikes are available—contact us for assistance) Bike first aid kit (spare tube, mini pump, tire lever, and multi-tool) Helmet Closed-toe shoes Backpack for water, food, and supplies Water bottle Flashlight or headlamp (if evening sessions are scheduled) Important Note: We recommend having your child’s bike inspected by a local shop before camp begins.
